HOW TO START AN ORGANIZATION

To start an organization obtain a signature sheet of all members and at least one sponsor. Complete a constitution regarding the organization. Have one (or more) representative/s to represent the organization at a Student Congress meeting any Sunday (emails will be sent weekly of meeting times) for a standard allocation to start the organization funds. With this have the constitution available either via online or a printed copy along with the signature sheet. Any further questions can be answered through any student congress representative or through our contact information found at the home page.

STANDARD ALLOCATIONS

The standard allocation is the minimal fund for any organization. This cost covers speakers, supplies, and receptions for a total of $410. Any additional funds should be brought to congress as a Special Allocation. Student Congress then has the power to accept or decline the allocation request.  If the allocation is approved then there will be further action taken through the Treasurer of congress. Further information regarding receipts and obtaining the allocation will be discussed via email by a student congress representative.

SPECIAL ALLOCATIONS

The special allocation is any additional funds required for an organization like outside campus trips, further supplies, special viewings, etc. This is achieved through one or more representative/s in the group which will attends a Student Congress meeting any Sunday (emails will be sent weekly of meeting times) to discuss the logistics and purpose of the additional fund. Be prepared for congress to ask further questions about the allocation. If the allocation is approved then there will be further action taken through the Treasurer of congress. Further information regarding receipts and obtaining the allocation will be discussed via email by a student congress representative.
